What is the process for new construction/updated service?
- Contact SWEC and fill out an application
- A staking technician/engineer will reach out and schedule an appointment
- Meet staking technician/engineer on site for a quote and checklist/paperwork
- Member begins the process of completing checklist (each new construction/upgrade is different)
- Must wait 24-48 hours before paying for work order
- Turn in all paperwork, payment, and completed checklist
- Work order is released to the line superintendent and can begin construction
When will my work order be complete?
Crews cannont begin construction on your work order until all the items on your checklist have been complete. The staking engineer will fill out your Work Order Checklist to show you exactly the steps you need to take in order to get the process started. Because each new construction is different, it is hard to determine when the project will start. You can always call into our office to see the progress.
What does it mean to be a member?
When you sign up for service at a cooperative, you aren't just a customer --you are a member-owner! This means you have a voice at the cooperative and have the right to vote on decisions like electing the board of directors or even serving on the board of directors.
