Power Outages

Currently, there are no major outages to be reported.  (please note, outages that occur after normal business hours may not be reflected on this site, as well as individual outages will not be posted).

If you are currently experiencing a power outage, please check a few things before reporting it to the cooperative:

The first thing to do is check your meter.  If your electronic meter's LCD display is blank, then a call to the cooperative is necessary and a crew will be dispatched to restore your power.

If the meter is displaying or flashing any numbers, then you do have power at the meter and will need to further check your service, as the cooperative's service ends at the meter itself. Check the main breaker below the meter (if your meter is on the pole) and check the fuses or breakers at the breaker box.  If all the fuses and breakers are functioning properly and you still are without power, a call to your local electrician may be necessary.

While it is our goal to prevent power outages, it is our responsibility to be prepared for any outages as they occur.  Southwest Electric Cooperative's outage phones are answered, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  To report an outage, calls should be directed to 417-326-5244 or 800-262-0326.  Please have the account number or mapping location available for the location in which you are reporting the outage.
