Currently, there are no major outages to be reported.  (please note, outages that occur after normal business hours may not be reflected on this site, as well as individual outages will not be posted). 

If you are currently experiencing a power outage, please check a few things before reporting it to the cooperative:

The number to call to report a power outage is 1-800-262-0326.  This outage phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

During times of high call volume, Southwest Electric Cooperative is equipped with an automated outage reporting system.  This allows members calls to be taken faster and more efficiently.  This system is only used when an outage occurs that affects a large number of members.  You can report your outage through the automated menu and it will instantly be reported to our Member Services personnel who are responsible for notifying our service crews. 

We have come to expect that if we lose electric service it will be restored within a few hours at most.  But when a devastating event, like a tornado, ice or snow storm causes major damage to a co-op's system, long outages cannot be helped. Crews work long, hard hours restoring service, but it's a task that needs to be done methodically to be done safely.  The "Getting back on line" document below helps illustrate the restoration process.

Cooperative members should be prepared for times in which extended power outages may occur, especially during those times of extreme weather conditions like ice storms and tornadoes.
